RV Fire

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Sunday at approximately 10:45hrs Talleyville (Sta.25) was alerted to reports of a Vehicle Fire w/ Large Fuel Load in the rear of 4010 Concord Pike. Caller stated an RV was on fire near a maintenance building.  The Squad (256) and Rescue 25 hit the street immediately with visible black smoke from the scene.  Units landed in the rear of 4010 Concord Pike to find an RV well off, in an abandoned lot with negative exposure to the maintenance building. Squad Chauffer (Paid Man Mergenthaler) sleeved the hydrant adjacent to the chain link fence in front of the RV Inferno. The Squad's crew under direction of Squad Boss (Captain Quinn) pulled a preconnected 200' dragonslayer to the RV and made quick work of the flames. Paid Man Langshaw had the knob, and was "doing it" with radio mic ever ready but left unused, a departure from the norm...the struggle is real. Crews operated for approximately 45 minutes overhauling and hitting hot spots before taking up and returning to quarters. Scene turned over to DSP. Story By: Itsa Joke
