On Monday evening, September 10th, Talleyville Fire Company went door to door in the neighborhood of Deerhurst to check each household for smoke detectors. This was part of an ongoing project by the Chiefs Office. Their goal is to visit as many homes in person as possible to check detectors, hand out batteries and detectors and to install detectors for any resident. Door hangers were left at all homes where residents weren't in. 30 members of the Fire Company along with 15 members of the Ladies Auxiliary took part.
